The Millers finished the work in the first half with goals from Kevin Juma, Bonface Kweyu and Levis Barasa as they continued their resurgence under new manager Salim Babu.
Earlier on Friday Wazito played a pulsating 2-2 draw against Kariobangi Sharks. The Ambani led boys scored through a Curtis Wekesa bullet header before Sharks equalized and led before halftime through Eric Mata and Geoffrey Onyango. Defender Rooney Onyango ensured a share of the spoils as he rose high to head home a James Kinyanjui delivery with barely eight minutes left on the clock.
KCB and Sofapaka played out a goalless stalemate at the Kasarani Annex while High Flying Kakamega Homeboyz maintained their unbeaten away run after thrashing Posta Rangers 3-1 in Thika. Goals from birthday boy David Okoth, Stephen Opoku and Sylvester Owino fired Homeboyz to victory while the mailmen got their consolation through Brian Otieno. At the same venue, Bidco United arrested their six-match winless streak with a rare 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars. Bidco goals were scored by Peter Nzuki who converted from the spot and a Jacob Onyango’s rasping shot from outside the area. The match also saw Ezekiel Odera of City Stars and Geoffrey Gitau of Bidco see red after being involved in a fracas after the former had fouled Odera.
At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Samwel Onyango and George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo’s goals were enough to ‘demilitarize’ Ulinzi Stars who got a consolation through Brian Birgen while AFC Leopards scored late to earn a 2-2 draw against visiting Bandari. Bandari opened the floodgates through John Mwita before Leopards equalized after well worked out a range of passes saw Maxwell Otieno finish past Michael Wanyika in the docker’s goal. Hassan Abdallah’s goal gave Bandari their lead before captain Marvin Nabwire scored a long-range shot in the 82nd minute to deny former Leopards Coach Anthony Kimani his first win over his former employers.
In another match that saw league newbies battle each other, Vihiga Bullets emerged victorious after edging out Talanta 2-1 at the Bukhungu Stadium to move one place above Mathare United in the table. Bullets scored through Nicholas Masaba and Zablon Cheloti to hand Juma Abdallah just their second win of the season. Talanta’s consolation was scored by Francis Kahiro.
Defending champions Tusker FC were held by Kenya Police 1-1 at their Ruaraka backyard. Police scored early through new signing Harun Shakava before the brewers drew level via Shaphan Oyugi who scored his first goal for the home side.
Kakamega Homeboyz lead the Standings with 43 points, eight points ahead of Nairobi City Stars who sit in second place while Vihiga Bullets move one place up and are now second from bottom with 12 points while Mathare United are now at the bottom with 10points.
