AFC Leopards did not get the three points from their games against Kenya Police FC on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium as they would have wished, but the match was entertaining both on the pitch and on the terraces.
During a period where most clubs in the country are struggling to attract fans to the stadium largely due to tough economic times and the wrangles in the game, Leopards had a substantial number of fans in the stand who enjoyed both on the pitch and off-pitch action.
The fans danced to the Isikuti and Gadaa and they also enjoyed some good renditions from the present GSU band who opened the day with the Kenya national anthem and the East African anthem just before kick-off.
On the pitch, it was a case of a former employee haunting his former club. Elvis Rupia, an ex-Leopards striker, opened the scoring for the law enforcers before John Makwata, who is currently on loan at the den from Police FC, found the back of the net on his second debut to ensure that the points were shared at the Nyayo National Stadium.
At full time, the fans who did not look disappointed with the result danced to the Isikuti beats within the stadium before moving all the way to Kencom where the fans eventually parted ways.
