Harambee Stars Head Coach Engin Firat called for patience and support from all stakeholders as he began his second stint as the Kenya National Team Football Head Coach in a Press Conference held yesterday.

The Turkish tactician was addressing the media as he prepares the National Team for their upcoming friendly match against Iran on the 28th later this month in what will be the National Team’s first match since November 2021
“We talk about winning and results but we forget about reality on the ground. Have we invested in our youth structures, do we have FIFA Standard Football Stadiums outside Nairobi County?” Posed the former Moldova National team coach in a hard-hitting presser yesterday.

Firat also lamented why Kenya has only featured twice in the AFCON for the last 31 years and the failure to play against any European top side in any friendly match.
” Look, Iran are a really good footballing country with quality attack led by players like Sardar Azmoun, Alireza Jahankbaksh and Mehdi Taremi who we have seen in Europe,” Firat stated on chosing Iran for their Friendly Match.
Iran are currently ranked 24th while Harambee Stars are ranked 101 in the Latest Fifa rankings.
