The Kenya National Football Team Harambee Stars played to a dull goalless draw against Zimbabwe in their opening group J Africa Cup Of Nations 2025 Qualifiers match played at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Uganda.

Stars could not go past a resolute Zimbabwe Set Up with the only clear cut chance falling to left back Eric Ouma who failed to beat Washing Arubi in the Zimbabwe post.

With the absence of talisman Michael Olunga, Head Coach Engin Firat played Eric Johanna Omondi in the False nine role as Anthony Akumu and Richard Odada marshalled the midfield.

Without a recognized striker for close to 68 minutes, John Avirre was introduced for Eric Johanna but no chances were created with the match ending in a drab draw after the final whistle.

NAMIBIA NEXT
Up next for the Harambee Stars are the Brave Warriors of Namibia in Johannesburg on Tuesday for a chance for their first win.

TACTICAL TWEAKS
Coach Engin Firat is expected to make changes to the side who did duty against The Warriors with a Target Man expected to lead the Stars attack.

All of John Avirre, Benson Omalla and Jonah Ayunga did not start against Zimbabwe much to the detriment of Football fans and Pundits alike but this could change on Tuesday when Stars take to the Orlando Stadium come Tuesday with Avirre expected to lead the line in the absence of Michael Olunga.

A win will be a big boost as the nation seeks to qualify for the Cup of Nations after a five year hiatus.
