The 2023 Africa Club Championship will serve off tomorrow (May 1) at the Moi International Sports Centre indoor gymnasium in Kasarani.
Nairobi City men’s team has been drawn in a tough Group A alongside defending champions ENPPI of Egypt and Gardes Cotes of Djibouti.
Kenya’s City Eagles are in Group B alongside Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), Vision ITC of Rwanda and Kibuli Table Tennis Club of Uganda.
In the ladies category, Petrojet of Egypt are drawn in Group A with Vision ITC of Rwanda and Nairobi City.
Uganda’s Kibuli Table Tennis Team are in Group B with Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) and City Eagles of Kenya.
The event’s draw was conducted by ITTF Competition Manager Adam Ashour in the company of team representatives, ITTF Africa President Khaled El-Salhy and Andrew Mudibo, the President of Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA).
During the post draw briefing, Ashour confirmed that tomorrow’s schedule will commence at 3pm local time.
This year’s championship has attracted seven men’s and six ladies teams.
Nairobi City men’s team has Jensen Owade, Allan Singar, Mike Otieno and Alikhan Kezia .
City Eagles from Nairobi has Kenya Number One Brian Mutua, Josiah Wandera, Peter Theuri and Kevin Mwangi.
